This is a three (3)-person team grooming challenge.

Each team must arrive with an overgrown dog, with at least six (6) weeks or 3 inches of coat growth—the more hair, the better! The goal is to either groom the dog to its breed profile or transform it into a completely different breed or style. Expect a dramatic grooming session with plenty of coat hitting the floor!

Format:

  • Only one groomer may work on the dog at a time until the 30-minute alert signals the next groomer’s turn.
  • In the final 30 minutes, teams may switch off as many times as they want, but again, only one groomer can be working at any given time.
  • Choose your team members and grooming order wisely!

Important Rules:

  • Dog must not be left unattended on the grooming table at any time. If this occurs, your team will be disqualified.
  • All grooming must be done in the ring using clippers, shears, or other grooming tools.
  • No coloring is allowed.
  • For sanitary reasons, the dog's facial hair may be trimmed up to four weeks prior to the contest date. The genital area, stomach, and paw pads may also be pre-trimmed.
  • A groomer may compete with any purebred or mixed-breed dog.

Judging Criteria:

  • The judge will be evaluating the most dramatic transformation and the precision of styling skills.

Time Limit:

  • 2 hours, regardless of dog size.
